Bayshore II Trail South San Francisco
Dome Construction acted as CM/GC on this 2,340 foot long bayshore trail development on Genentech’s property in SSF. The construction of this 12’-0” wide asphalted trail included major grading work where approximately 25,000cyd of soil was moved. The entire site was balanced to minimize soil import and export and to create an ADA conforming trail where slope does not exceed 5%.
The project scope included construction of a permanent retaining wall (made of vegetated blocks by Verdura). This retaining wall was approximately 300 feet long and required extensive temporary shoring of the hill side and the road above. The drainage system along the trail included vegetated swales in combination with underground drain piping and man-way entry stations. On the hill side an irrigation system was installed while the bay side was hydro-seeded and left without permanent irrigation. The landscaping scope included the installation of over 5,000 plants. Various types of fencing (mostly wood with stainless steel cabling) were installed on the project. Site improvements also included modifications of two parking lots, installation of benches, trash receptacles and signage.
