Laboratory Buildout
South San Francisco


This is a 70,000 square foot build-out of three floors for a new laboratory that is currently under construction. Architectural features include dense laboratory casework, a large quantity of 10 foot walk in fume hoods, environmental rooms, and support offices and conference rooms.

Mechanical systems include a new cooling tower and chiller, two new air handlers and many new exhaust fans to support the fume hood load. All labs are equipped with standard gases, air, and vacuum. A specialty solvent waste and vent system is being installed to support the HPLC equipment. The project also provided for a special hiMist fire protection system for the uHTS equipment. Intense MEP coordination was necessary to comply with owner regulations for clearances around data lines.
