Department of Justice
DNA Laboratory Expansion, Phase II
Richmond
Dome is working on the lab expansion for the State’s Department of Justice, DNA Lab. This 20,000 square foot second-floor space for labs and office space includes the complete demolition of office space and related utility infrastructure. The build-out will include the Missing Persons Labs (Extraction, PCR, Robotics, Stink, Bone, etc.), Evidence Storage (walk-in freezer and refrigerator), two training labs, a classroom, a meeting room, 16 offices, 2 break rooms, and 3 file rooms. Structural upgrades will be included on the 1st Floor to support a high-density file system. The build-out also includes a new 2-story secured elevator shaft. All new MEPS systems (Chiller, Pumps, Emergency Generator, etc.) were installed in new 100-foot utility enclosures (AHU, Boiler, exhaust fans, condensing units, etc.), located in the parking lot and on roof.
